A Message From the Executive Director

As you browse the Achievement Center’s Web site, may you be reminded of the growth of the agency as we celebrate over 85 years of providing child-centered and family-focused therapeutic services to children and their families.

Since 1923, the agency has achieved many milestones including: a name change in 1990 to the Achievement Center; an expansion of services to children from birth to young adulthood; and an expansion of service areas to Pennsylvania counties Erie, Crawford, Forest, and Warren, PA and Chautauqua County, NY.

The Achievement Center offers a wide array of therapeutic services including:

  • Physical Rehabilitation/Recreation Therapy
  • Early Childhood/Early Intervention
  • Mental/Behavioral Health Services
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder Services/Lake Erie Autism Diagnostic Educational and Research Services (LEADERS)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD) Services/Bridges
  • New Choices (At Risk Behaviors and Emotions/Outpatient/Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services)

At the Achievement Center, we are committed to helping children and their families reach their therapeutic goals. As we provide therapeutic services to over 3,700 children each year, our presence in the home, school and community is valued by families.

It is awe-inspiring to watch families and therapists work together as a team, creating a nurturing environment and achieving success. We are very fortunate to have bright, energetic and dedicated clinicians at the Achievement Center who devote themselves every day to going “above and beyond.”

In the words of Helen Keller, an American legend and a woman of great fortitude and character, “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” I have great hope, confidence and optimism that 2009 will bring many achievements for the families who choose to partner with the Achievement Center.

I am thankful to each of you, as are our children and their families, for supporting the Achievement Center and appreciate your belief in our mission to “maximize the potential of children.”

Sincerely,

Rebecca N. Brumagin, Executive Director
