The Achievement Center hosted a press conference/check presentation at the main agency to announce the $10,000 grant that we received from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Erie for therapy/theme boxes for our therapeutic programs.
News of the grant spread throughout the airways this past Thursday onWICU TV 12, WSEE TV 35 and JET TV 24. The media interviewed Rebecca N. Brumagin, Executive Director at the Achievement Center, and Tom Ducharme, McDonald’s owner/Operator and President at ThomEl. Board member, Cindy Hessinger, and Achievement Center directors and staff were on hand to give thanks to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Erie for their commitment to children and
youth in our community.

The grant will make it possible for the Achievement Center to purchase therapy/theme boxes, a collection of materials related to one subject area, as a resource for therapists and teachers in the Achievement Center’s preschool programs and clinicians serving children at home and in the community.

“These boxes will be used with children in our Autism, ADHD, Mental Health and Outpatient programs,” said Shawn Sledzianowski, Director of Intake and Outpatient Mental Health. “Our therapists and clinicians are looking forward to having these resources to use on a daily basis.”
