LEADERS of the Pack
Within the past year at the Achievement Center, five Behavioral Specialist Consultants have passed their national exam to become Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA).
The Lake Erie Autism Diagnostic Educational & Research Services (LEADERS) Program now boasts the only autism program within 150 miles in which every behavior specialist is a BCBA, as well as its directors. These staff members include Behavior Specialist Consultants: Jane Buyer, Christina Colon, Linda Hartken, Lynne Orengia, Sara Rish, Carly Sturgess, and Amanda Will, Behavior Specialist Consultant/Mobile Therapist; along with Bob Gulick and Tom Kitchen, Co-Directors of LEADERS.
The BCBA certification demonstrates that those who attend are qualified to design, implement, and supervise programs based in Applied Behavior Analysis, a science of teaching and learning that has been recognized by many evidence-based practice review boards as being the most scientifically-supported intervention for individuals with autism. It is the only approach endorsed by the Surgeon General.
The Achievement Center is proud of the LEADERS staff for their commitment to obtaining this high degree of excellence for children with autism.
