At the Achievement Center, our mission is to maximize the potential of children. As part of that effort, the Center's ACTive Parenting Services combine highly effective, child-focused interventions – namely those based in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) – with a robust counseling component for adult caregivers/parents. The counseling arm of this approach utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which also has its roots in ABA and is backed by over 20 years of applied research.
The family-centered holistic approach of Behavior Analytic Services supports the unique needs of children so they are better equipped to completely fulfill their potential. This program was developed through years of experience, research and planning. With four designated rooms for therapy, each with an adjoining observation room, the space offers a quiet area, a playroom/rest area, an adjoining kitchenette, and a separate waiting room.
Behavior Analytic services are open to children, 18 months of age to young adulthood, who have a history of significant problematic behavior such as aggression, self-injury, and severe tantrum behaviors. Services require the active participation of the child's parents and/or caregiver.
