The focus of the Autism STAP is to provide a structured and therapeutic environment for participants to hone social skills and families to learn new strategies that will ultimately help to create a better quality of life—with particular regard to relationships with others at home, in school, and in the community. Overall, the STAP will address the three core deficits of ASD as they are manifested in the individual program participants.
1) To improve communication skills – both receptive and expressive language.
2) To improve social skills
3) To reduce repetitive or otherwise challenging behavior
