The Achievement Center’s New Choices is a program that provides specialized Outpatient Mental Health Services or Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS) to children, 10 years or older, and their families who are at risk for emotional or behavioral problems.

Outpatient Mental Health Program:
Available in Erie County
Provides individual, group, and family psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management to children. Services are provided to individuals who are experiencing emotional, relational, and/or behavioral problems. This Outpatient Mental Health Program has specific areas of expertise including children/adolescents with: Anxiety; Mood Disorder; Adjustment Disorder; Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD); and Depression. The goal is to provide treatment that will meet the needs of children and families so that they can function successfully at home, in school and in the community.

Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS):
Available in Erie, Crawford, Forest, and Warren Counties
Provides strengths-based, needs-driven, enhanced mental health services that give individualized support to children/adolescents and their families. Prescribed, individualized, behavioral health services are provided to children and adolescents who have a psychiatric diagnosis which makes it medically necessary for them to receive BHRS. The services are provided by trained professionals, including therapeutic staff support, mobile therapists, or behavioral specialist consultants, who are committed to providing the highest quality care to children. Program goals may target safety, functional communication, social or classroom behavior. Services are based upon Child and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP) and are provided in the home, school, and/or community.
