Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS) are driven by the unique values, strengths and needs of the child.
BHRS includes the following supports:
- Behavior Analytic Services – Behavior Analytic Services (BAS) are provided by a Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) that is either a Pennsylvania Licensed Behavior Specialist or Board Certified Behavior Analyst. These master level clinicians work primarily with the parent, teacher, or caregiver via a treatment plan designed to change how the adults react to the problematic behaviors of the child. Changing parent behavior has been found to be the single-most effective way of changing child behavior, and BAS is founded on this approach.
- Mobile Therapy (MT) – A mobile therapist is responsible for providing counseling services to the child and/or family. Therapy is provided in the home, community or school setting. The services offered vary according to the individual needs of the child, whether it be emotional, social or behavioral support.
- Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS) – The TSS extends the work of the BSC by supporting the parent, teacher, or caregiver in the implementation of the treatment plan. The main duty of a TSS is to transfer the skills outlined in the treatment plan to the natural adult caregiver.
