Our Core Values

What makes us us? The Achievement Center of LECOM Health holds several core values that guide our decision-making and day-to-day operations. If you resonate with these values and believe them to be true, too, we’re sure you would be a great part of our team!

Integrity

For nearly 100 years, we have operated with the highest level of honesty, ethical conduct, and social responsibility. We have the responsibility to help children, adolescents, and their families maximize their potential, and it’s a responsibility we take seriously.

Compassion

We continually express empathy and sensitivity with everyone. Our trauma-based, compassionate approach allows us to appreciate other perspectives and situations, and to be genuinely concerned about the needs of our clients.

Collaboration

We encourage partnership. Our success is a result of collective energies, and we greatly appreciate the contributions of all our team members. We design our work environments in a way that allows for teams to flourish and achieve to their highest potential. Simply put, maximizing resources and impact define us, and involvement and a sense of community are among our greatest strengths.

Well-being

We encourage and support a positive and safe environment. We ensure that each person we work with feels secure and comfortable in our environment, and we provide them with the tools and resources they need to continue feeling that same comfort in their own environment.

Inclusion

Over 200 employees in the Erie region from different ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds come together for one cause. We work to build a workforce that is as diverse as the region we serve. We value and respect varied perspectives and know that the more perspectives we have, the better decisions we make.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon do benefits kick in?

Benefits for all eligible employees will be effective the first of the month following the first 30 days from hire date.

What benefits do you offer?

ACLH is fortunate to be a part of the LECOM Health system, which enables us to provide our employees with Home Host medical care (with little cost or no co-pay options) in addition to our medical, dental and vision insurance packages. You are able to stick with your regular medical care provider, if you so desire, but discounted costs/co-pays are available when you get care in the LECOM Health system.

Additional voluntary benefits are available to eligible employees include short term disability; individual, spouse and family group term life insurance; individual, spouse and family accident insurance; long-term disability; hospital indemnity insurance; critical illness insurance; pet insurance; LECOM Wellness Center discounts and many local area discounts on food, dining, entertainment, and services.

What does your Paid Time Off (PTO) look like?

ACLH is dedicated to promoting life-work balance for our employees.  We acknowledge that the work our employees perform can be very rewarding, and also highly challenging at times.

Full Time Employees

We have three types of time off 1) PTO (previously referred to as floating holidays) 2) Vacation and 3) Sick time. We encourage staff to utilize their time as needed and desired.

Accruals for PTO are awarded annually.  Vacation and sick time accruals are generous and dependent upon hours worked per week and are distributed the first of every month.

Part-Time Employees

ACLH appreciates the hard-work and dedication of our part-time team members.  We are fortunate to be able to offer vacation time to employees working an average of 15 hours a week, over a 6-month period.  Vacation accruals are based upon average hours worked and are distributed semi-annually in January and July.

Do you offer career advancement opportunities?

Absolutely! ACLH and our partnering LECOM Health system affiliates offer a wide variety of career pathways and advancement opportunities throughout an employee’s tenure. Our agency and health system are deeply invested in developing our team members, leveraging their strengths and passions, and aligning their skills with organizational needs.

Employees have opportunities to identify their career goals and work toward their professional goals in collaboration with their department supervisor during performance reviews and monthly support meetings. We regularly promote from within and prioritize internal candidates for open and/or new positions.

ACLH also offers free supervision toward licensure and provides training and Continuing Education stipends for full-time employees to develop their skills and expertise as well as maintain their credentials and professional licenses.

As a health system, ACLH and partnering LECOM Health affiliates maintain partnerships with many local higher education institutions and have established pathways for students and employees to advance their career through practicum and internship experiences year around.

Mentors, job shadowing, informational interviews, and presentation experiences are also available to support employees through career development an advancement.

Will I be able to receive training opportunities or CEU’s?

ACLH prioritizes professional development opportunities for our employees because it helps our team grow their expertise, advance their career, and promote more successful outcomes with those they are serving.  These opportunities are our direct investment into our talented, hard-working team that helps others maximize their potential.

In addition, ACLH’s Learning Management System provides free CEU opportunities for employees.

ACLH also invests $200 a year to clinicians for licensure CEU or to renew their license.

Do you offer licensure supervision?

Yes! We are  committed to seeing our employees grow and succeed.  ACLH maintains a complement of Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) who provide mentorship and licensure supervision to those on track for licensure.

Our team provides individual and group supervision as well as other direct field observational requirements pending the license or certification parameters. We offer documentation and record keeping resources to maintain files of supervision hours and experience.

Not sure if we offer the kind of credential supervision you’re looking for? We have many other team members with various credentials that can support professional advancement and/or clinical experience site requirements. You can contact our HR department for more information.

What is your dress code?

Our dress code at ACLH is business casual.  Employees who provide clinical services in the community are expected to follow the dress code defined by the entity in which they are working.

On Fridays, for employees working primarily in the office, we do promote casual wear. Jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, etc. are welcomed to close out the work week.

Be aware – we are known to also celebrate some themed apparel days for those who are willing to get in on the fun!

Do you offer student loan repayment options?

ACLH is a nonprofit behavioral health entity that meets many federal employer requirements that support loan forgiveness and/or repayment options.

We are fortunate to be a qualified employer with the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.  Our HR department would be happy to assist you in the application process.

What is involved in your hiring process?

Applications and resumes are reviewed by our hire managers.  Interviews are completed in-person or via Teams or Zoom.

If selected for the position, an HR representative will contact you to review the formal job offer, which will include salary, medical benefits, time off benefits, etc.  If you accept, you will be provided with an onboarding link to complete necessary new hire paperwork.

All new employees are required to provide PA State Criminal Clearance (Act 33), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 34) and FBI Clearance within 45 days of hire.  All new employees must also complete an Attestation Form prior to hire which affirms in writing that they have not been convicted of an offense against a child.

In compliance with federal law, all employees must be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. Applicants will need to provide proof of vaccination or those seeking exemption due to a medical condition supported by medical documentation or a sincerely held religious belief may submit a request for exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine to Human Resources prior to hire.

Am I able to work in more than one role within the agency?

Yes.  You may choose to supplement your impact and income by choosing to work in more than one role as we do offer several Additional Pay positions to our employees.  These positions are dependent on the needs of our programs and require approval from your supervisor and HR.

The training has been amazing, and the work cultural is refreshing and energizing. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt valued as a person and a professional!

Sarah T.

Client Intake Specialist, employee since 2021

I have been in the MH field a long time and have worked at a few different agencies. What sets the AC apart from those agencies is that they care and appreciate their staff. . Also, when I am out in the community and in conversations, I tell people where I work, they tell me all the positive experiences they have had with AC serving their family and that makes me proud to be a part of this agency.

Danielle G.

Chief Clinical Officer, employee since 2017

I came to the Achievement Center of LECOM Health five years ago in search of an agency whose mission and values aligned with my own in hopes of finding a workplace where I could call ‘home.’ My hopes and expectations have consistently been exceeded.
