Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Services

Do you have a child who can’t sit still? One who walks, runs or climbs when others are seated or talks when others are talking? Does your child become easily distracted, have trouble socializing, or displays impulsivity? Does your child have a short attention span, making it difficult to concentrate on schoolwork?

The Achievement Center of LECOM Health offers a full range of therapeutic services for children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD is one of the most common mental disorders in children. Symptoms of ADHDmay include inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity.

ADHD Services Include:

Outpatient Mental Health Services: Outpatient Mental Health provides individual, group, and family psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management to children.

Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS): Available in Erie, Crawford, Warren, and Forest Counties. This program can provide either traditional Mental Health services or Behavior Analytic Services to children diagnosed with ADHD.

Traditional MH services would be provided by a Mobile Therapist that has expertise with the ADHD population. The Mobile Therapist provides in-home psychotherapy for the child and family.

Behavior Analytic Services would be provided by a Behavior Specialist Consultant and would focus on changing how the parent, teacher, or caregiver responds to the problematic behavior being displayed by the child diagnosed with ADHD.

Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) extends the work of the BSC by supporting the parent, teacher, or caregiver in the implementation of the treatment plan. The main duty of a TSS is to transfer the skills outlined in the treatment plan to the natural adult caregiver.
