Play Therapy

Does your child have problems expressing their own feelings when coping with emotional stress or trauma? Play is the most natural way for a child to convey what he/she is feeling without the use of language. Play Therapy differs from regular play in that a trained therapist at the Achievement Center of LECOM Health helps the child address and resolve his/her own problems. With the use of a fully equipped play therapy room and a positive relationship with the play therapist, a child can safely confront his/her problems and find creative solutions. In addition, the play therapists at the Achievement Center of LECOM Health communicate regularly with the parents or caregivers, helping to further develop a plan to resolve issues in the home, community or school. Play therapy supports children of all ages, with a wide range of mental health needs who are unable to express their thoughts and feelings with words.
